Art Deco Ormolu Basket Pink Glass Divided Dish.

The Art Deco movement began in the 1920s and reached its peak in the 1930s. It was characterized by bold geometric patterns, vibrant colors, and luxurious materials. This style was a departure from the more ornate Art Nouveau movement that preceded it.
Ormolu, derived from the French term “or moulu” meaning “ground gold,” refers to the process of gilding bronze with a gold-mercury amalgam. This technique was popular in the 18th and 19th centuries but continued to be used in the early 20th century for decorative objects, including those in the Art Deco style
